Pear Waffle Snacks

This was called a snack, but I made it for a quick breakfast. I thought it was good because I could easily cut it down so I could make it just for myself in the morning.

This recipe is from Mom me.

Ingredients:
-1 ripe D'Anjou or Bartlett Pear, cored and diced
-4 ounces cream cheese, softened
-2 tablespoons honey
-1/4 teaspoon vanilla
-1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-1 ounce chopped walnuts or pecans
-6 waffles

Mix the cream cheese, honey, vanilla, cinnamon and pecans
in a small bowl.
Spread on waffles and add cut up pear chunks.

I didn't think this was bad, but I still thought the waffles tasted a little dry with just cream cheese, so I added syrup to this after I made it. Other than that, I thought the flavors were good.

Pear Appetizer

This recipe was a perfect light appetizer. The cheese and fruit paired together well, and this was such an easy appetizer to make, it took less than ten minutes. It was also great because it is easy to adapt to any kind of nuts or crumbled cheese you have on hand. I used blue cheese, but you could use something else like goat cheese or feta. This recipe is based off of one from from Eat Drink Smile.

Ingredients:
-Pear
-Blue Cheese
-Pepper
-Honey
-Pecans

Cut the pear into slices, about half and inch thick.
Cut out the seeds from the center.
Arrange the pears on a plate.
Sprinkle with pepper and some blue cheese.
Add pecans or any other nut you want
Drizzle with honey.
The blue cheese was a good match with the pear, and the honey was a good addition. It had both a sweet taste from the honey and pear and saltiness from the blue cheese.
